Talega Condos and Townhomes

Modern living defines the condo communities found throughout Talega.  The majority of condo options in Talega are multilevel attached townhomes; there are only a few single-level condo floor plans found in Carmel, Santalana, and Verano.  Like the single-family homes of Talega, Talega condos and townhomes offer modern floor plans with designer touches; Talega condos are undoubtedly the most modern options found in San Clemente.

Talega Senior Living

Talega is home to arguably the nicest senior 55+ community in Orange County – the Talega Gallery.  This large gated development consists of 4 sub-communities, 3 of which contain detached single-family homes and one offering single-level attached townhomes.  The Talega Gallery offers some of the nicest amenities in San Clemente: a large community clubhouse with meeting and game rooms; a resort-style pool and spa area; a 9-hole putting green; and a bocce ball court.  The Talega Gallery is an active lifestyle, so there are planned events for residents year-round.  Pricing in the Talega Gallery is the most expensive for senior living real estate in Orange County, but once you set foot in this community and view the gorgeous homes and setting, you will gladly pay the prices asked.

About Talega

When the Talega neighborhood was first being developed in the late 1990s, many residents and observers were wondering why San Clemente, a coastal community with a small-town feel, needed another area of homes and condos.  San Clemente prides itself on being a smaller alternative to large nearby cities like Mission Viejo and Irvine, and the thought of adding a variety of new developments to inland San Clemente rubbed some people the wrong way.  However, upon the first Talega homes and condos opening in early 2000, the area quickly became one of the more popular and desirable places to purchase Orange County real estate.

Area Amenities

The Talega real estate market offers four single-family gated communities, and many homes are situated on single-loaded cul-de-sacs, providing pretty views and a quiet atmosphere with no thru traffic.  Since Talega is still relatively new, many Talega real estate options have the latest in modern amenities, which may include upgraded kitchens with granite counters and stainless steel appliances, great rooms, interior courtyards, separate guest casitas, and other modern appointments both inside and out.  Besides the various single-family tracts and condo communities, Talega also features a large senior (55+) development known as the Talega Gallery, a gated active lifestyle community considered to be one of the most desirable in Orange County.

Talega residents have access to swimming pools, parks, sports fields, the Talega Swim and Athletic Club, and the Talega Golf Club, a championship golf course designed by Fred Couples.  The Swim and Athletic Club feature two pools, a fountain area for children to play, tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, ping pong tables, roller hockey rink, and a great meeting room.  In addition, Talega offers a nature preserve containing over 2,000 acres of open space and over 19 miles of trails.  Talega also features brand new shopping centers, healthcare facilities, and other amenities.

The Talega Village Center, located at the corner of Avenida Talega and Avenida Vista Hermosa, contains a 46,000 square foot Ralphs; known as Ralphs Fresh Fare, this store is a step above others as it has been specially created to provide the finest cuisine, gourmet products, and unique produce for Talega residents.  The Village Center’s dining includes the Sundried Tomato Cafe, Panera Bread, Peet’s Coffee and Tea, Swirlz Frozen Yogurt, and much more.  The Village Center also features stores for apparel, children, health and beauty, and a Wells Fargo Bank.

Schools

Talega is served by Vista Del Mar Elementary and Middle School (K-8), which is a newer school built as part of this master-planned community.  High school students attend San Clemente High School, which is ranked in the top 1.3% of high schools nationwide and is located just a couple miles from the community off the Avenida Pico exit of Interstate 5.
