Rancho Margarita Real Estate

The Rancho Margarita development is in one of the highest points of the Central area, so it takes a few minutes to reach the first homes after exiting the freeway. Most of these properties were built by Pacesetter Homes during the 1960s and early 1970s, and quite a few have been rebuilt or remodeled by recent owners due to age.  The homes offer 3-4 bedrooms, 2-2.5 bathrooms, and 2-car garages, and many are situated on large lots that start around 10,000 square feet. With the lack of community amenities, Rancho Margarita homeowners do not have to pay HOA assessments.

Community Amenities

Rancho Margarita is a very peaceful community due to its high elevation and single-loaded streets.  Thru traffic is non-existent, and the homes have nice separation due to the large lot sizes.  The views from Rancho Margarita homes are stunning – you can see a large part of the city along with the coastline, Dana Point Harbor, and Catalina Island.  With many of the homes on the older side, upgrades tend to be at a minimum, allowing you to get creative with your new home.

The ability to customize your new home is one of the main draws of purchasing Rancho Margarita real estate.  As these are some of the oldest homes east of Interstate 5, you have the option of tearing down and starting from scratch or upgrading the functional floor plans that currently exist.  Homes in the Rancho Margarita tract enjoy some of the nicest ocean views in all of San Clemente due to their high location and being situated on single-loaded streets.  This community is a little further from the freeway and Downtown section than other Central tracts, but those looking for privacy and tranquility will feel right at home in Rancho Margarita.
