Simply put, you will be hard-pressed to find homes or condos in San Clemente with unobstructed views like the ones found in Marblehead.  Due to the elevated locale and tiered nature of many of the streets, Marblehead homes and condos offer beautiful views of the city, coastline, Catalina Island, and even Dana Point Harbor on clear days.

 

Outdoor activities for all
While Marblehead is a couple of miles from the beach, there are plenty of things for residents to do throughout the neighborhood in order to take advantage of the glorious San Clemente weather.  Marblehead Park is a large ocean view park (one of the few in San Clemente) with sports courts, a tot lot, a small amphitheater, BBQS and table, and large grass areas on which to lie out in the sun or kick around the soccer ball.  Marblehead is only about 1.5 miles west of the new La Pata Vista Hermosa Sports Park and Aquatics Center, so kids and adults looking for a swim on a hot summer day do not need to fight the crowds at the beach.  Hikers and walkers have easy access to both the Forster Ridgeline and Rancho San Clemente trailheads, and there are also beautiful strolls throughout the gated Highland Light community that are safer due to little thru traffic.

The majority of Marblehead real estate options are located in the large guard-gated Highland Light development, so security and privacy are the norm.  There is no thru traffic in this community outside of residents and guests, so parents can feel a little more secure with their children playing in the street.  Marblehead has its own elementary school (Marblehead Elementary: K-5) and access to multiple middle schools (Bernice Ayer and Shorecliffs); the neighborhood is also about a mile or so away from the lone high school in the city (San Clemente High).  As stated above, there are plenty of outdoor activities for children to enjoy, and while you are not on top of the beach, it is only a short distance away.
