The sun shines approximately 340 days out of the year in San Clemente. During the summer, the marine layer exists almost daily but usually burns off by mid-morning, providing sunny and comfortable beach weather. Summer temperatures tend to be in the 70s and 80s during the day and the 60s at night. Winter weather tends to be in the 60s during the day and the 50s at night. Temperatures will drop into the high 30s or low 40s at night occasionally during winter months. The weather is a big factor that attracts a lot of visitors to San Clemente annually.
Plenty of options to get in and out of San Clemente
San Clemente is easily accessible via car, train, or plane. Interstate 5 runs right through San Clemente stretching to San Diego (45 minutes south), John Wayne Airport (30 minutes north), and downtown Los Angeles (1 hr 15 minutes north). San Clemente is also conveniently located near two toll roads. The 73 Toll Road is just a few miles north of San Clemente and connects South Orange County to Central and Northern Orange County and cuts a lot of time off commutes during rush hour. Further up Interstate 5 is the 133, which creates easy access to Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.
In the North Beach area, there is an Amtrak / Metrolink Train depot connecting to San Diego, Orange County, and Los Angeles. San Clemente is the only Orange County community closer to San Diego than Los Angeles.
