San Clemente public schools are served by Capistrano Unified School District. San Clemente is also served by private schools.

San Clemente Public Elementary Schools

Public elementary schools serving San Clemente include: Truman Benedict Elementary (Forster Ranch area), Concordia Elementary (Southwest area), Las Palmas Elementary (North Beach area), Clarence Lobo Elementary (Rancho San Clemente area), and Vista Del Mar Elementary (Talega area).

Public Middle Schools

Public middle schools serving San Clemente include: Bernice Ayer Middle School (Forster Ranch area), Shorecliffs Middle School (Coast District Area), and Vista Del Mar Middle School (Talega area).

San Clemente High Schools

San Clemente High School is the only high school in San Clemente and is ranked in the top 1.3% of schools nationwide. San Clemente High School has an International Baccalaureate (IB) Program, a vast number of AP Courses, high-ranking athletic teams, and a distinguished music program. San Clemente's IB students rank in the top 3% of the world, and the program continues to expand.

For those living in Capistrano Beach in Northern San Clemente, students are now attending the school district’s newest high school that opened in September 2007, San Juan Hills High School.

San Clemente Private Schools

Private schools in San Clemente include: Our Lady of Fatima School (Southeast area), St. Michael's Academy (Central area), and Our Savior’s Lutheran School (Southeast area). There are many other private schools as well in nearby communities.
