San Clemente Parks
San Clemente parks include trails, baseball and soccer fields, basketball courts, tot lots, open play fields and restroom facilities. Thousands of acres are devoted to both public and private parks throughout San Clemente. Furthermore, Rancho San Clemente is the future site of the La Pata/Vista Hermosa Park & Aquatic Center, a 45-acre park featuring baseball, football and soccer fields, and an aquatics’ complex with recreational and competitive swimming pools.
There are many trails in a variety of locations in San Clemente, including along the beaches and in Talega, San Clemente's newest community. There are trails for hiking, biking, and walking.
A new trail, the San Clemente Beach Trail (2.27 miles each way), stretches from North Beach down to Calafia and will preserve the natural landscape. Phase I has been completed and Phase II broke ground in November 2007.
There is also a 1,172-acre Nature Conservancy (RMV Conservancy) with a variety of plant and animal life located at the end of Talega off Avenida Pico. Tours are available and offered through the Conservancy.
