San Clemente Beaches
If it is one thing San Clemente is know for it would be its beaches and surfing legacy. San Clemente has some of the best beaches in all of Southern California. San Clemente is home to Surfing Magazine, The Surfer's Journal, and Longboard Magazine.
The following is a description of most beaches in San Clemente:
Trestles
Trestles is considered to be part of San Onofre State Beach and is the southernmost beach in San Clemente. This beach requires a long hike down a trail, and therefore, is not ideal for families. This is one of the most popular surfing spots in the world and the beaches are very quiet with mostly surfers in the waters.
Calafia State Beach
This state beach just north of Trestles offers overnight camping, barbeques and fire pits. This is another popular surfing spot and great beach to visit with the kids.
Riviera
This is primarily a local's beach with access via the Riviera neighborhood. This is a great surfing and swimming beach.
Beach House
This secluded beach is named for the beach houses located directly behind it. If interested in visiting this beach, we suggest parking at T-street and walking up.
The Pier
This is considered part of downtown San Clemente and is known for its historic fishing pier. There is a large public parking lot accessible from Avenida Del Mar making this a great beach to visit for families.
In addition, there are always surfers at this beach making it a great place for those who love to surf or watch others surf. The pier also offers many amenities including places to eat, fishing, volleyball, and picnic tables.
Linda Lane
This is a quiet beach and a short walk to the pier. There is parking off Linda Lane with many of the spots being metered. This is a good family beach.
204
204 lies just south of North Beach. The easiest access to this beach is by parking at North Beach off PCH and Avenida Pico and walking south down the sand.
North Beach
Located at PCH and Avenida Pico, this beach is ideal for a family due to its easy access, a snack bar, and playground equipment. North Beach is also where the Amtrak/Metrolink station is located in San Clemente, making it an ideal place to visit or have friends come meet you.
