Parking Passes Available For Fantastic San Clemente Beaches

Yearly passes may be used at pay spaces near beaches throughout city

While San Clemente is known for unique Spanish-style houses and an intimate small-town feel, the aspect that truly puts San Clemente on the map and above most cities in Orange County are its wonderful beaches.  From the crowded and popular beach in the Pier Bowl of Central San Clemente to the more secluded San Clemente State Beach in Southwest San Clemente that overlooks some of the best surf breaks in Southern California, thousands of people flock to the city each year to bask in the glory of San Clemente's beaches.  Throughout the year, parking can be an issue around the beach areas, especially during the crowded summer months; even if you are lucky enough to find a spot near the sand, chances are you will have to pay for the privilege of enjoying the beach due to the abundance of metered parking found throughout the city in the more popular beach areas.

Fortunately, the City of San Clemente offers yearly parking passes that allow users to park for free at metered spots near the most popular beaches in San Clemente.  Parking passes are now available through City Hall (100 Avenida Presidio) and cost $50 for San Clemente residents and $100 for non-residents.  According to an article in the Orange County Register ("Parking passes give a year at the beach"), owners of these passes may park at pay parking spaces near Poche Beach, T-Street Beach, North Beach, Linda Lane Beach, and in the Pier Bowl.  The parking pass is good for 12 months and can save a lot of hassle and money for San Clemente homeowners or frequent visitors to this beautiful city.  Driving around searching for a free spot to park in the highly congested area west of Interstate 5 can be a thing of the past with one of these parking passes; as residents know, it is typically a lot easier to find a pay parking space versus a free one.  This is a great option offered by the City and yet another example of what makes San Clemente such a great place to call home.
